Make fake Pots de Creme instead of instant pudding: Everyday Tip #29

OK, so this recipe from my favorite chocolate chips in the world isn't the real thing (and real pots de creme are easy enough to make as it is) but since one of my kids has an egg allergy, I like the fact that this recipe doesn't include eggs.

It's as easy to make as instant pudding, but instead of weird ingredients like tetrasodium pyrophosphate and "blue 1" it has three ingredients: chocolate, milk and butter.

Try this instead of that instant pudding in your pantry and I guarantee you won't go back. Who says real food is hard?

(I got the recipe from the bag of Guittard chocolate chips. They are THE BEST.)

FAKE BUT DELICIOUS POTS DE CREME

Ingredients

2 cups milk chocolate chips

3/4 cup whole milk

1/4 cup butter

Directions

Place chips in blender.

Heat milk and butter in a small saucepan over low heat while stirring, just until mixture begins to boil.

Immediately pour hot liquid into blender container. Cover and blend at high speed until smooth, about 1 minute.

Pour into dessert dishes and chill until set.
